The definition of Querencia is, "a place where one feels safe or feels at home, and where one draws their strength from." I started thinking about where I draw my inspiration from, or what comforts me. Music and the guitar have been a huge part of my life, so I thought about creating a guitar where different sources can come together and coexist as one mood board of my creativity. I included themes common in the word's origin, Spain. Cubism was the inspiration for the front of the guitar, the overall shape of the piece, and the snippet in the collage locates the "Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia." I constructed the base of the guitar case from book board, wrapping it in paper before attaching the pieces together, and the lid is made from watercolor paper.

The word "Dustsceawung" is based on the contemplation of dust, and how one day everything and everyone around us will be dust in the future. I thought about how dust forms over time, and time reminded me of an hourglass, so I used an hourglass motif to portray different things turning to dust, like ourselves, the instruments we play, and the world we know around us. The origin of the word derives from Old English, and those influences can be seen in the typography and the 3rd spread, with an old English countryside being the location. I used a loose hand while painting to achieve a blurry and dusty aesthetic.

The word "Eudaimonia" has many interpretations, but a simplified meaning states that it is the action of living a good life with your morals intact. On the inside of this Victorian Purse Puzzle, I listed different acts of kindness one could do for others for them to continue to live a good life, and on the outside, some hobbies or activities that can help someone continue with their daily life of work and self-sustainability. I also decided to show the life cycles about other organisms, because with their existence, they are experiencing eudaimonia.
