"WORLDS OF WANDERLUST" (2024)
7ft x 7ft indoor wall made with acrylic paint
In collaboration with Brynna J. Ventura
"Worlds of Wanderlust" depicts how people can be transported to new worlds when illustration inspires imagination with original characters by Brynna and Camila. The vibrant art styles of Brynna and Camila have created a harmonious world where they both can thrive. Brynna's art style is very whimsical and focused on strong shapes to depict their strong youthful character, Sunshower. Camila's art style draws from nostalgia and warmth, inspired by her Salvadoran roots to bring color to her illustrations. Both artists felt very strongly about their individual brands as artists and wanted to represent the diversity of the Otis students in Illustration and Communication Arts.

Project Proposal: Mar Vista Gardens x KDI
As part of the Storytelling group for this project, my role was to provide illustrations for the mural and plant poster concepts my group and I agreed upon developing for the fence enclosing community garden. Taking the garden and diverse community into consideration, I decided to have them as the leading themes of these projects. For the mural, I included variations of flowers based on different cultures' folkart, with playful and warm typography, to create an inviting tone. As for the plant posters, I decided to take inspiration from the "Loteria" game, popularized in Mexico, but iconic for most Hispanic culture. I chose to portray actual fruits and vegetables grown in the community garden, providing a peek at the flourishing garden within.
